Hi,
is there a way to have no background in the Today Screen?
My old iPAQ had a clear background aside from the top with the date.
I sure liked that better. My appointments, etc were so much easier to read.
The hx2410 has 3 background choices but I don't know if I delete any of them I might not be able to get any of them back.
I'll appreciate any suggestions you have. Ann

You can try using this free TKCreater to create or modify theme for your Today screen;

I don't know how well it works with WM 5.0 though.
Or if you have any graphic/photo editing program on the desktop, you can just create a jpg image with 240 x 320 pixels with any color you like and copy this jpg to Windows folder on the ipaq and select it as a Today Screen background.

Thank you for your help, AnswerDude.
I created the background like you suggested on the laptop and tranferred it to the iPAQ.
The folder for Active Sync on the laptop shows only MyDocuments.
Now it's in "My Documents" Folder and I don't know how to transfer it to the Windows folder.
Would you please let me know how to go about doing it?
Again, thanks in advance, Ann

Open File Explorer on the ipaq browse to the file you want to move, tap AND hold on the file a popup with option to Cut then browse to Windows folder and click Edit on the tool bar at the bottom then choose Paste. For future reference, you can also click Explore on desktop activesync after you connect the ipaq to the desktop and you will be able to see the ipaq and copy, move, delete files the same way as you usually do on the desktop.

It worked beautifully! Thank you Anwer Dude !!!!!
Now I have another question....
On my 1. attempt I mistakenly had it on BMP instead of JPG file. Now it's in the Windows file along with some other preloaded pic's that I thought I had deleted.
Is there a way to delete those files in Windows?
Again, thank you so much for all of your help. Ann

Yes, again just tap and hold on the file you want to delete inside File Explorer on the ipaq, option to delete will pop up.

Yes, I had done that in the past and thought that I deleted the factory pre-loaded pictures this way but now I see that they still show up in the Windows Folder but not anymore in the File ExplorerFolder.
They show as files with the JPG Icon. The Today Screeen Background (the correct one) shows up with the JPG Icon also and of course I would like to keep this one.
The Today Screen I made by mistake as BMP shows up with the BM Icon.
When I tap and hold (in the Windows Folder) my options are: Copy- Send via email-Beam file. The pre-loaded JPG icon files options are: Copy-Send via email- Beam file and Set as wallpaper.
Is there any way to remove them??
Again, I really appreciate your advice. Ann

I see that you want to delete pre-loaded pictures not the bmp files you copy. I misunderstood. No you cannot delete any files that comes with the OS, they are in ROM (read-only memory).

Too bad that I can't delete those pre-loaded pic's which take up resources....
Yes, I do want to delete the bmp files which I have mistakenly created if it's possible.
Sorry, that I haven't made myself clear.
Anyway, is there a chance that I can delete that bmp (background) file?
Thanks for your patience! Ann

Try soft-reset the ipaq first then try delete the file using the method mentioned above. If that does not work, try delete it through activesync explore feature on the desktop. And if that does not work, change the extention of the file from .bmp to somethign else such as .bak, soft reset then you should be able to delete it.

Thank you! I think it worked with the soft reset.
