To return your 3800 to "factory condition," meaning to erase eveything that is not in ROM or iPAQ File Store, you can perform a hard reset: press and hold down the two outer hardware buttons while you use the stylus to press and hold the reset button.
You should see the display dim and go out.
To reanimate the device, apply power via the power adapter or cradle.
