I recently downloaded the Kinoma Player. Beautiful picture.....no sound. The manual on states "support for audio on Palm handhelds has been uneven." It goes on to say that the player supports uncompressed, ADPCM, Yamaha ADPCM, and Clie Audio. However, one of these requires OS 5.0 or an enhanced sound manager. The others require an audio co-processor. Is there anyway to upgrade to OS 5.0 and would it work with the slower processor in the 760? Is the audio co-processor a piece of hardware? If so, a bunch of us are just out of luck. If it is software, can we download it somewhere. I would really like sound on my trailers. Sony should not just leave us out in the cold!!!

First of all, you cannot upgrade your OS to 5.0. 5.0 will only work on ARM based processors. So that is not an option.

Now I have played with Kinoma player a little bit on my N760 and found that on most video file that i was able to get sound to work. I have not taken the time to look into why some do and some don't but another user said that you need to paly around with the different types of player formats and they will then work.

The bottom line is that you should be able to play video with sound if it is encoded properly to match the N760 audio co-processor.

Just make sure when you do your encoding, you have the sound setting to Clie Audio. You don't need OS 5.0 for this, I have 4.1 and it works fine.
