actually it was given to me from a friend... but that wouldn't fit in the title... someone left it at his place for good for a while now and it had none of the cables...

first of all... is this model any good? I'll have to pay a small fee if I keep it..

can it play videos?

What do I need to start using this? Ac adapter... some kind of pda - pc connector... ? Could I get these at Best Buy? What about a CD?

any fold keyboard I could use on this? I understand it's an old model... 2001

thanks for the help

As you already realized, this model is very old. First thing you need to check is whether it can turn on and everything is working. It's fairly common that the battery on the older model can get completly dead which means you will need to get new battery.
It's a basic model without any wifi or bluetooth. It can play video and music and the basic PIM functions such as contacts and calendar are fairly equal to newer model. You will need ac adapter, sync cable that connect to usb/serial port on th desktop. BB probably don't have them, but you can get them directly from HP or ebay.
You can download most essential softwares from MS and HP.
There are a few foldable keyboard for this model.
