Hi all,

I dropped my HP iPaq 2215 several days ago, and I can't get it to work again. It wasn't a terrible drop, just feel from the table onto the carpet.

THat said, it hadn't been charged for at least three days after being dropped, so could it be that the battery is just drained? I put it back into the cradle, but it still doesn't charge. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

if you have the same cradle as my h2215 then there is a depression in the cradle adjacent to (behind) the iPAQ slot to charge a spare battery. you could remove battery from 2215 and place in the spare battery slot to test charging, there is a light on bottom right corner of cradle says "aux battery" this light will blink for charging the spare battery slot and go solid (no blink) when battery is fully charged.

so all this test will do is confirm whether the battery is a problem or not

And when you put the battery back in, check that the battery is seated firmly and the lock is in place. The battery will not operate until the little switch on top of battery is closed by button on the battery cover. You can try pushing the battery button with the tip of the stylus. If that works, the battery door is probably broken.
