Two weeks ago I upgraded from an m105 to a nice new m515. I love the 515 and the DateBook5 software. BUT, I seem to have more trouble using Graffiti on the 515 than I did on my m105. I get a lot more incorrect characters, two incorrect letters when I want one, etc. The 515 works, but this decreased ability to write in Graffiti is annoying.
I'm not a novice Graffiti user - I've had a Palm for about two years and I use Graffiti constantly. Has anyone else had a similar experience with a 515, or with any other Palm?

Yes! I thought it was just me! I have recently returned my m515 (after 3 months use) because I was getting gibberish more often than not. I tried a demo m125 and m130 and wrote 6 lines really quickly without error but could barely manage 6 characters without error on my 515. I put it down to wrecking the graffitti area with too much work but my Vx didnt deteriorate to the same extent after 12 months! I was wondering whether the screen protector (writerights) had anything to do with it - making me need to press harder or something.

Angela,
Thanks for writing. A little more background on my problem: My m515 came with a clear plastic sheet on the screen. When I took it off it didn't seem to leave any residue but I wiped the screen anyway. My first efforts at Graffiti were _completely_ gibberish! After trying a number of things I realized the notepad function didn't work either - I couldn't even draw a continuous line of any kind. I kept cleaning the screen in what I thought was a futile effort, but eventually the screen did seem to get better adn I was able to write Graffiti reasonably well. BUT, it has never gotten to the accuracy level of either of my other three Palms (one m100, two m105s). Does any of this sound familiar?
What did you do about a replacement for your defective 515? Was the replacement any better?

I only sent the pda off last week after talking to Palm Australia. I am hoping that the replacement will be here by the end of the week!
I cant remember what mine was like in the beginning! It has got progressively worse though to the point that I was sometimes making 3 or 4 strokes for one character! Not very efficient to say the least! I have always used screen protectors but will now rethink what I use!
