Hi users!
I made up my mind to upgrade my Palm Vx (which i loved by the way). Since i have a Sony digital camera + memory sticks, i decided to get a Sony Clie. After browsing through the forums and some sites (SonyStyle), im still clueless. I narrowed down to the SJ30, T615 and T665. The most important featurews for me are :
1. color screen.
2. size - small and light....
3. reliability.
4. battery life.
I'm sure the T665 is the best one, but it has a problem with the size and battery. MP3 capability is "nice to have".
I'd appreciate tips and a solution from "hardcore" Clie users, who used these PDA's.

I naturally wanna say the T665 because it is rhe best one, and that's the one I have :D But it sounds like the T615 is perfect for you though... the decent screen and no MP3 and slightly slower processor should save you around $75 or so. But can you still find the T615 over there? Over here they are allllll gone and have been for awhile.
Me, I wanted the "perfect" screen, faster processor, and MP3 capability... and I ended up spending $309 for my T665 through price matching and stuff. I think I got a good deal :)
Good luck with the Clie... they are really cool and I love this T series. I had the fvery first Clie, and the 710C before this newest one. :D

Hi Guys. I am desperate to have a T665. You got one amazing deal for $309. PLEASE can you tell me where you got it for that price. I live in england and its $450 (approx in dollars) at the cheapest place. Amazon.co.uk are selling for £350 ($525) (note it's called the T675C in england but it's the exact same model). Amazon.com have it for £200 ($350) but they won't ship electronics to the UK. If you can please tell me where you got yours from and of any other website you know of that sell it that might ship to the uk I would be VERY greatful.
Thanks in advance

p.s The SJ30 has basically replaced the T615 because their features are basically the same but the SJ30 is cheaper.

Well, I got it at Circuit City... They have a web site www.circuitcity.com but I do not know if they ship internationally... Plus they have it for like $349 or $399 I think. The reason I was able to get it for less was because a local California store had it on sale for like one day for less, and Circuit City's plicy is to beat the lowest price (in store prices)...
Good luck though!

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately Circuit City don't ship outside the USA- theirprice was $349 which was a good price. If you come across anywhere that ships internationally I would be grateful if you could let me know,
Many Thanks for your help,

Does anybody know what the T625 is? I believe it's the european
version of the T615...Just like the T675 is the european version of the T665. They sure dont make it easy for us customers!

Yes. The T625 is definately the european verion of the T615. They are identical pdas though. (The T675 is the european version of the T665 too). They probably had complaints about this because the new SJ30 is the same worldwide.

Each color PDA may have its own distinct features. But the differences seem to vanish when you consider that lithium batteries last only two years max. So it all boils down, I believe, to two questions: 1) how much will a particular model cost you per day to own the unit?; and 2) to what extent will it make you more organized and productive?

indorugafumapa,
The battery in a 665 is not bad, it is just too SMALL. Not enough fuel to keep the 665 going for a decent amount of time.
The huge battery in my Visor Prism (SUV of Palms) keeps it going for almost 10 hours (time ON).

Between the T615 and SJ30, there isn't much difference w/ regards to the criteria that you had set.
But a factor that is usually overlooked is CPU speed. Especially in database apps which generally grow in size, or when you really start filling up your memory, overall performance may begin to slow down. And software continuously gets bigger and better, making things more challenging for the CPU.
The T665 has a processor that is 66Mhz, twice the speed of the others, and is one of the fastest in the entire market. This is also the main reason why it's battery life is shorter than the others, and is also prone to heat up faster.
But as in PCs, CPU speed counts, and is the main principle behind the evolution of the industry.
Stay cool.;)

True the SJ30's battery may be bigger (BTY, very brave of you Cliemea for having your PDA opened up like that!) but the hardware architecture and features is what really defines battery life.
For instance, the T615 boasts of FM-synthesized audio supported by a fairly big mono speaker while the SJ30's contains that of what probably most other PDA's have, a squeaker. This is a plus factor for the T615's functionality, but at the price of its battery life. I've tried the latest version of Bejeweled, whose audio makes you feel like your on a real arcade machine. But after about an hour, the battery drops by about 30%! The moral of the story, just keep the sounds low, or mute them altogether, and you'll enjoy a longer life with your PDA between charges.
By the way, Cliemea, I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem I have regarding my need for the driver that will enable me to use my PEGA-KB11 keyboard on my T615. You can refer to the appropriate thread.
Thanx to all and I hope I'm able to be of service.
stay cool.
