I have an Ipaq 3850, and I would like to be able to view pictures on it that I take on my Canon Powershot A510 (both use SD cards), with a Lexar 128MB SD card. After I take pictures with the camera, I insert the SD card into the ppc SD slot, and then the ppc returns with a "you need to format before use" type of message.
Is the ppc slot designed for storage use only, or can it be used to read my camera's SD card as well? Or perhaps is the camera too new for this older ppc? I have searched everywhere, and cannot find an answer to this.
Thanks :)

Yes, the sd slot on your model is only for memory card. You should be able to see that sd card, try soft-reset the ipaq first. If that does not help, you may have to apply this driver update (you may also need to do ROM update before install this update);

Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded both the ROM upgrade and driver update, and installed both. My iPaq now sees the folders on the SD memory card that were created by the Canon camera, but the folders are empty (no files are shown). However, I know that the files are there since the camera can still see them. Any ideas on what else I can try next?

What program are you using to view the card on your ipaq?

I am just using the standard File Explorer that comes with the OS. I would assume that it could see whatever is on the SD card.
