Hi there. Newbie here looking for some advice/guidance.

I have aquired a Compaq iPaq 3630.
Not too familiar with PDA's in general so looking to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.

1) The iPaq is currently running MS Windows CE v3.0.9348 (Build 9616) which I believe is also known as Pocket PC 2000. Is this correct?
2) I believe that I can upgrade the iPaq to Pocket PC 2002.
Does anyone know where I can download the software to do this for free or does someone have a copy I can have?
3) What is the most recent version of ActiveSync I can use with this iPaq on a Windows XP SP2 PC? Is it v3.8?

Any help with the above questions much appreciated.

1> Yes, your unit is running PPC2000.
2> You can still find it on Ebay, do a search there for "ipaq 2002 upgrade".
3> Activesync 3.8

While you are at ebay look up accesories for your 3630, you will find all kinds of goodies that will make your ipaq more fun to use.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Another question, I found the following article on the Brighthand forum (http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?threadid=107845) and wondered if anyone is familiar with this process. I have followed the instructions as detailed and all goes well upto the point 3 where the software fails to detect the iPaq. This is strange as ActiveSync detects it without any problems. The actual message is Error 101. Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?
