Ipaq 1910 did hard reset and can't restore the backup file. SOS...

Hi again gurus of the pda planet. I would be lost and dead without you all so, thanks in advance!

Well, AGAIN, my wife allowed her Ipaq 1910 to go completely dead. After charging it up, it did a hard reset by itself. Then, when attempting to restore from her ActiveSync backup file, I get this message: UPPER BOX MESAGE: Restore invalid storage file. MAIN MESSAGE: "The selected backup file is not valid. Please select another storage file." The file indicates that it is located in C:\documents and settings\owner\desktop Also, in reading another post, her pda IS set to the proper time and region.

What's up with this? Why does Microsoft screw wit me constantly?

Did you set region setting and time zone on the ipaq the same as when the backup was made?

I believe so. Is there a way to tell what setting is in the backup file? Any other tips? Thanks AD!!!

Is it possible that you have many version of backup on this desktop including ones from another ipaq? Perhaps do a search on the desktop to see if there are any other .stg file. Otherwise you will have to create new partnership, resync outlook, reinstall application through Add/Remove Programs and use STGViewer

Well, Mr. AD, you've done it again!

I deleted all partnerships and signed in as guest and THEN, I WAS able to restore the backed up files! Go figure. I guess that's why there is good PDA game out there entitled, "Pie Gates" where you throw pies at Bill. He gets a cream pie from me for causing this stress.
