Cable issues

I'm trying to figure out a way to get my VX-6700 to connect to a serial cable device, but the USB-serial converter is backwards in a sense... i can do it with a serial-bluetooth converter but i'd rather use a cable. my adapter i had now i used with my laptop, since i could plug the converter into the laptops usb port. BUT, the port on my pda is a minisize usb... and the cable i have for the vx6700 is mini usb on one side and regular usb on the other... can i mate a regular usb to another usb with a link or something?

PDA: male miniUsb--------= regular male usb
Converter Cable: =regular male USB---------Female Serial
OBD2 Device: -Male serial-------------OBD2

I need:
male miniUsb--------Female Serial
or
male MiniUsb--------regular Female USB


Anyone?
