I was just wondering if anyone has some info if Psion is doing more development for the netbook(os, java, hardware, or whatsoever)?

I don't know about development, but I was trying to get my Psion-Teklogix support account activated and was told by a Psion employee that their technical department no longer supports queries regarding the netbook and I should try Psion Digital !

We do not have technicians dealing with Netbooks, you might have better luck 01908261686 which is Psion Digital support.

Si,

It is Psion Digital who carry out all of the repairs so I think that you were just being redirected to the repair centre in Milton Keynes. Mind you, since one of the staff there thought that the netBook ran of AA batteries don't hold out much hope of sensible answers from them! :(

This all sounds a bit worrying to me! :(

Its true, the netBook has returned home ;)

It started life as Psion's Jedi project, then they bought Teklogix who took it on to do the case (and a good job they did too!) and build it in volume.

Now it has been handed back to Psion Digital, based in the UK, who will support it and build the new motherboard version.

The Milton Keynes staff may take a little while to get up to speed, but I wouldn't be unduly worried.

I have heard about two different developments, but I am unsure about which one is being pursued, if any:

1. A Unicode version of netBook (ER5u ??), which, in theory, should make its files directly compatible with the Nokia 9200 Series. (Maybe this is wishful thinking from our side, because using netBooks as content development platforms for fleets of Symbian OS v6 and v7 devices would be very attractive for us.)

2. A Pocket PC version of netBook.

Most likely - and unfortunately - the latter is more likely than the former.
