Hi, I want to punch Bill Gates. Please help me change my attitude.

I had to re-format a harddrive and when I reinstalled Outlook 2002 for my Ipaq 1910 and 4155 the bizarre stuff started to occur.

I USED to be able to copy outlook.pst from one computer to another to have the updated files on each PC. Now, on that formated pc, NO "outlook.pst" file exists. I CAN ONLY find "Personal.pst" I tried renaming it to outlook.pst and then Outlook won't run.

What in the world has happened? How can I change this situation back to Outlook working with an OUTLOOK.PST file?

Thank you!!!!

I'm getting my boxing gloves laced up :-)

OK, I want to punch Bill Gates more now!

As you see, I ask the question and then answer it. It turns out, when I deleted the PERSONAL.PST file or renamed it, Outlook had threatening verbage relating to the deleted/renamed file scaring me into abondoning my efforts. I finally got bold and deleted that file even though the error messages scared me thinking I would be doomed. Then, I copied my Outlook.pst file in its place. After a couple of more conversion threats form Bill Gates error messages, I went for broke. THEN, I WAS able to get in to the Outlook program. UGH!!!

At that point, I was able to open my Outlook.pst file from within Outlook and wala, my contacts and notes. etc. were there.

Now it works. What grief Bill has caused me! Bang, Sock, Whak, Crunch Bill

I hope this helps someone!
