Hi,

I tried downloading a new pocket tunes skin on my TX from the pocket tunes website, but they all seem to be zip files. I get an error message saying my TX does not support zip files.

Is there a way to allow my TX to download zips? Or where can I download skins in another format?

Also, if I download a new skin, can I revert to the original skin if Iwant to?

Thnx,
shellsyd :)

I haven't tried downloading zip files onto my handheld, so I am unable comment about that.

However, I know Pocket Tunes let you select the skin you want to use from a list inside of the program options.

Thanx. But I have Pocket Tuns version 3.0.9 and I dont have a list of skins. I can only change the default skin preference by changing the type of font.

What version do u use, and is it free?

Thnx,

I have one of the early commercial versions of the program. I originally got it for my old Tungsten T because no other MP3 software was available at the time. When I got my T3, I stopped using Pocket Tunes because there was an abundance of software to choose from and I no longer qualified for a free upgrade to a new version of Pocket Tunes.

The version I was using had a skin chooser built in. Too bad they removed it from the version bundled with the TX.

I use the Pocket Tunes that came with my TX. Under "Tools" is the opiton "Choose Skin" - I use this to change skins.

Re: zip files. I unzip them first then download the skin. There are some great skins out there. WinAmp is my favorite. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but in the pocket tunes that came with my TX, there is no 'tools'. What version do u have?

Could you suggest the web page for the site where i can download the zip file for the skin u are suggesting?

Thanks.

I have version 3.0.9. (It was free. I did not purchase the Deluxe version.) Did you register it? I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but it might. Two unzipping programs are winzip and winace. You can use them for a trial period for free. They are both easy to use. You can go to www.winzip.com or www.winace.com.

Go to your menu on 3.0.9. Mine has Prefs, Actions, Tools, Help at the top. Does yours?

Good luck.

Thanks! The problem was that I didnt register it! I have now registered and I can now see the 'tools'- I only have two skins to choose from however.

I went to winzip website to download a free trial of winzip, but a message still comes up sayin my TX doesnt support that file type, it asks me to save to a card, which I did. I can see 'winzip' and a 'skin' I downloaded on my card, but I cant access them on the TX.

??help!!k

The winzip download file is a '.exe' file. How can I download this to my TX?- it says my TX doesn't support this file.

Ok, it took me a while, but I have figured it out. I needed to unzip the file on my pc first then synch the unzipped file to my TX. All sorted now! Thanks...

Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear. Unzip the skins before putting them onto the Palm. I'm glad the registration worked. I vaguely remembered having to do that.

Enjoy!
