Hi everyone!
I just joined PDA street today and own Psion 7Book.
I would like to send an alarm sound 'cavalry' from my revo plus to 7Book to enjoy. However, I am not able to locate the data in revo  .
Does anyone help me to locate the data file and give me guidance to send the
data via infrared port?
Thank you and good day!

I'm not sure if it is possible to send the alarm from your revo to your series 7. You could try recording it?

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your kind and brilliant suggestion!
It is the easiest and quickest way.
I have just tried and found that he recorded sound is a bit noisy.
Anyway, I will try better recording quality.
Thank you & gooday!

Erm, maybe I'm being dense but why not just beam the file directly from the revo to the 7book? I'm not sure if you can beam files directly from the ROM or not but copy it to c: and then beam it over IR...

Of course.....I'm not thinking......
What Martin is suggesting, is:
Make sure your hidden files and system is showing (by pressing ctrl & k)
Then press ctrl & tab (this then loads up your c drive)
At the top change the drive to your z drive.
Go to alarms and the file you want, and press enter.
Copy it (ctrl & C)
Go to your c or d drive (hopefully you have one of them bookmarked,)
And paste (the file will then appear)
Copy it to your series 7 and viola.
Put it in a folder in your system folder called alarms (c/system/alarms)
And it can then be used.
Hope it works ok.

An alternative way of navigating to the ROM (Z: ) drive on the revo is simply to tell it to create a document there (which it can't do but it'll take you there in the process!). I.e. Menu | Create new | File... Then specify (say) Program: Word and Name: z:\anything. Hit Enter, et voila, you are navigating around in the twighlight world known as ROMdrive... ;)
But how do you come back into the C-drive?

With the program "Navigator" you are also able to access the Z: drive ;)

But how do you come back into the C-drive?
By pressing the small Z on the title bar and changing it to C or D! ;)
Or pressing ctrl & b which takes you back to your bookmark. :D

Ctrl-Shift-C? Or use the create-a-file trick for the C drive? Or goto the bookmark (Ctrl-B)? Probably more ways...

Gentlemen, thank you for several suggestions and my apologies
for late reply.
Tim,
Browsing folder (ctrl+tab) works fine on 7Book but seems
not workable on revo. Although I put (ctrl+k) to show hidden files, I am unable to
view alarm sound on revo "Internal" folder which seems ROM.
Martin,
I tried per your suggestion, however, unable to browse
twightlight zone yet. Maybe something wrong with my approach?
I tried to create word file on z-drive z:\test but "access denied" message appears.
Jonas,
Thank you! "Navigator" is a good program and works fine
on 7Book. However, I am unable to try on
revo yet as my home PC is now out of order.
Thanks anyway for several suggestions and would appreciate
your further input.
I tried to post this message with screencopy (jpg), however,
"connection closed by remote server" error message appears.
Do you know the reason?

I tried to create word file on z-drive z:\test but "access denied" message appears.
After this message you would then find yourself in the Z drive!

Thank you for your quick post.
I am still not able to find myself in the "z" drive of revo plus.
Even I press ctrl+tab for browsing, revo shows documents and system
folder only. Below system folder, apps folder is visible, however, alarm program
does not appear.
I apologise for my lack of knowledge.
Would you please give mea little more advice?
Thank you,

The point is that when you press <Ctrl+Tab> you should get a disk selection option. It will show C: by default but if you tap on it you'll find a Z: option also.
After this message you would then find yourself in the Z drive!
Exactly. Just press <Enter> or <Esc> when you get the Access Denied message and look at the system screen - it should show 'Z' on the Toolbar.

You are right the Revo is different. You will not be able to do this on the Revo.
So instead do what you have tried, and when the message about no access appears then just press enter or esc and you will find that you are in the rom or Z drive. Make sure that you have system folder showing before you try it.
Hello Tim,
1) beam Navigator from 7Book to Revo. Install and try from Navigator
or
2) try Eshell. If you are familiar with old DOS console, this one would be enough
or
3) Follow this sequence:
a) go to parent folder
b) press CTRL+SHIFT+B (save bookmark)
c) press CTRL + K (Preferences) and enable Show Hidden and Show System
d) press CTRL + N, Type: Z:\test
e) Press Enter (file will be created, but access denied)
d) goto System\Alarms
e) press CTRL + A (select all)
f) Press CTRL + C (copy)
e) Press CTRL + B (goto bookmark)
g) Press CTRL + V (paste)
DONE. Let us know.

I think this message should be for katsumih not me ;)
We have been in consultation and have got there and all is sorted. Thanks for your input though :)
