User's hdd crashed. I supplied her with a replacement pc with a fresh reload of windows 2000. She uses a Palm IIIe. I downloaded the latest desktop software (4.1, I think). When it hotsynched, it didn't pull any information from her pc to her Palm or vice-versa. I have never used or installed a Palm, so I am kind of in the dark here. She says she has never used the Palm Desktop interface, just Outlook and her Palm PDA. She has tons of old info on her PDA and a bunch of new, updated info in Outlook on her newly replaced pc. This is because a week went by between when she got back to work with the new pc and when I installed the Palm Desktop. My question is, how do i get her new info from Outlook (in "contacts" and "calendar") over to her PDA without erasing anything on the PDA or in Outlook? Since she never used the Palm Desktop interface, should I just remove that from her machine, and if so, what needs to be on her machine so that I can get her Outlook info to her Palm? Thanks tons to anyone that can help us.

you will either have to install palmdesktop and let it sync with outlook, or (better option) use an third-party app for direct syncing.Chapura Pocketmirror (http://www.palmgear.com/software/answernew.cfm?sid=35585320021203020749&quicksearch2=pocketmirror&CFID=7404402&CFTOKEN=16732446) is the most used (palm used to include this in some software packages)

thanks, vollie! i checked out that site and that may be just what we're looking for. however, how do i get the palm desktop i already downloaded to synch with outlook? it goes through the hotsynch process, but no information gets exchanged and there are no error messages or anything to indicate a problem.

dunno to be honest, i believe you have to set up some macro to make that happen, rather complicated and far too much work if you ask me:rolleyes:
it's why i recommended pocketmirror
