Support for 802.11b (re: Tungsten T) is not clear. It appears that it is not yet supported. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Provide info on if/when it would be supported?
Any ideas on when one would be able to buy an 802.11b Wifi card and surf the web on a Tungsten T at a local hotspot?

The 802.11b SD card is not yet available for purchase. I've read (although I can't recall where) that it's supposed to be released 1st Qtr 2003. Here's an article that says it will be released "sometime" next year:

It would be great to use my TT to access the net at Starbucks, Surf and Sip sites, Boingo sites, and other hot spots.

At Comdex, they said their SD WiFi card should be available First Quarter 2003 but were unclear on who their marketing partner would be. SyChip is primarily an OEM product developer.
Consequently, the retail situation could be much like Palm labeling and selling the new ultrathin keyboard which is produced by Think Outside.
