Hi. I've been using my Yahoo!Intellisync successfully for a while now to directly sync with my PPC (iPaq RX3100), without having to go through Outlook. But as of late, I seem to frequently have hang ups with the syncing of my Calendar. I am guessing that it has something to do with MultipleDayAppointments that I am allowed to enter into the iPaq, but that the Yahoo Calendar rejects. Well, I was frustrated, so I reformatted my iPaq and reinstalled everything, including ActiveSync as well as Yahoo's version of Intellisync (http://address.yahoo.com/yab/us?.ran...v=SA&A=x&A2=11)

But now I can't sync anything with my iPaq! Not only the Calendar, but now also the Address Book and ToDo list. Otherwise, Y!Intellisync works fine with Outlook. My Y!NotePad has always been relegated to sync via Outlook/ActiveSync, since it is not supported by Y!Intellisync. And so right now I can still in fact sync my Yahoo-Notepad just fine with Outlook and then use ActiveSync to consequently sync with my iPaq. So the individual softwares (Intellisync and ActiveSync) seem to working just fine...

This is the error message I receive:

"Unrecoverable error trying to access
translator module. Product may need to
be re-installed."

So it seems that all is well except that I am missing some 'translator module'... which I assume is a little program that resides on my iPaq. I assume it resides on my iPaq because before reformatting the PPC-iPaq, I noticed that there used to reside some Pumatech software on my iPaq that is not there now. The last time I noticed this software had autoinstalled itself at somepoint... somepoint that I don't precisely recollect! I can't remember if I had to download the software seperately or if it was installed by the Y!Intellisync software. I remember at somepoint downloading a version of "Intellisync for PPC", but I just Googled it and found nothing this time... that is, no FreeWare that goes by this name.

Can anyone help me on this?? Do I need to in fact download a third party app... and if so, do you know from where? I know if I did so in the past, it was definitely freeware.

Thanks for your help!

Check desktop activesync's Add/Remove Programs, all programs installed through Activesync should still be there.

Answer Dude, re: "Check desktop activesync's Add/Remove Programs, all programs installed through Activesync should still be there."

There were no files/programs in Activesync's ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS...
I literally removed all the folders/files myself and did a clean re-install... which brings me to another doubt: maybe I did not delete a particular folder, or maybe there is a file somewhere that indicates some setting/preference which in turn falsely indicates that the 'missing pumatech program' already is installed on my PPC, when I in fact removed everything??? hence why this 'missing pumatech software' is not being re-installed on my PPC... ? ...

thanks for the reply...

If you are not showing the file in add/remove in activesync then it was deleted on desktop computer. I suggest removeing program both from ppc and desktop. reboot both and reinstall. I use yahoo installsync program and it did that once to me and that is what i did. Good luck.

ManCalledUncle,
You say "remove program both from ppc and desktop. reboot both and reinstall."... Whic program should I remove and reinstall? Do you mean, remove and reboot Y!Intellisync... because right now, when I install Y!Intellisync, nothing gets installed on my PPC. What do you have on your PPC? What's the program called that talks with Y!Intellisync? OR are we talking about ActiveSync on my PPC (which comes pre-burnt onto the PPC's ROM).

Thanks for the feedback,
Roberto

Y!Intellisync you will need to remove it from desktop first then reinstall from yahoo. If it will not install on ipaq then the program you have on desktop is damaged.

so... in an effort to fix my aforementioned problem of synching with Yahoo, I installed Activesync 4.1.

Since then, I can't get any ActiveSync (3.7/3.8) to work with my iPaq running Windows PocketPC2003... as in, i can't even open ActiveSync besides the "Connection Settings" link when you right lick on the "SpinningGreenYingYang" symbol.

The error message states: "Critical communications services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again."

I just read that it is not encourage to use ActiveSync 4.1 with wMobilePPC2003 ... I assume that the problem I am now having is probably related to the reason why you shouldn't try to use ActiveSync 4.1...

So what do I do now? What else can I do besides hard-reformat my iPaq and uninstall/reinstall ActiveSync 3.8 on my PC, which I have already tried?
