Hi my Palm m105 loses all it's data everytime i insert new batteries. This happens even when they are not completely flat and I change them very quickly. I even tried an experiment where I changed to fresh batteries, did a complete hotsync then took one battery out for 1 sec and still lost all the data! Would this mean the capacitor inside is stuffed or something else?

Cheers, Larry Jordan

I have seen numerous posts on this issue (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.phps=&threadid=2201) your situation seems to be on the extreem end of the spectrum, if it is still under waranty I'd get ahold of palm and tell 'em to fix it.

Yeah, sounds like your backup capacitor is bad.

:) The comments of 'JohnKes' are correct.

I made some about this problem and assure you that will find the final solution to your problem in the discussion 'M125: Changing batteries and the reset dilemma'.

I am getting tired of this problem. I think all Palms with replaceable batteries have this same issue. HELLO PALM, ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE HANDS THAT FEED YOU:confused: Wake up and act responsibly.

I thought I told you a million times not to exaggerate! ;)

We only hear about the units with bad capacitors. There are thousands out there that are fine. You can't expect 100% of those capacitors to be bad. Unfortunately, a good percentage are.
