Hi all,

I'm a newbie and I've been searching these forums for any help on this, so I'm sorry if I missed somewhere that someone else has already posted an issue like this one!

I've had an m500 for exactly 2 days now and I love it. I would love to take advantage of the Docs2go and Palmreader included with my PDA but I cannot get the desktop software to install! Previously I had a Visor Neo with that Palm desktop software installed on my computer (running win98) without a single problem. (Visors and concrete floors don't mix, even when trying to put it back into its case! Not pretty.) I put the CD in my drive and get a taskbar that says "AutoInstall". That's it. It sits. You can click the taskbar and get nothing.

I went under "my computer", rightclicked my drive to see the folders and try to find documentation of "what to do if".... I'm searching the folders for like 1.5 hrs, reading everything I can get my hands/mouse on, and I also tried to do the "start, run, Q:/autorun.exe" thing to get the same result of "autoinstall" taskbar.

A friend at the office said that maybe I got a bad CD, and also told me to try "start, search, for files or folders, setup.exe
Please help! I consider myself to be at least pretty good with computers and installing stuff, but this is ridiculous. Please help!

The exact message on the toolbar is "AutoPlay Menu."

The exact error message is as follows:

"Command Line should be (Unique ID) (Exe) (Working dir) (Optional Args). Instead it was --- ---."

Can anyone help?

I got it taken care of, called tech support and my CD was one of a batch sent out that apparently were missing a driver or part of the install tool. I didn't have to pay the $25 since I 've had the unit for all of 3 days, but for as courteous and helpful as the guy was I wouldn't have minded paying it!

have a great day!
