I purchased IQue 3600 and it came with MapSource North America City Select DVD v7. I followed the instructions and installed all the software, but I don't see the MapSource program anywhere. I can install maps from Palm Desktop, I can assign locations to a address book entries, but I can not browse maps or create routes on my PC.
It looks like the client MapSource software for PC is missing.
What am I doing wrong?

I had the same question when I received my Q recently. I downloaded MapSource from the Garmin web-site.

That's the only way to get the full MapSource program. It is not included in the installation CD for the iQue.

The full MapSource program used to be included with the iQue, at least 2 years ago when I bought my original unit. But I did run into the same problem mentioned in this thread when I received a brand new in the box iQue from a RMA several months ago. My problem was solved when I installed the Trips and Waypoints program that came with my eTrex Vista Cx and it installed the missing piece to execute MapSource as well.

I downloaded and installed MapSource client from Garmin web site. Now I can browse maps and create routes on my PC. Unfortunately I can not transfer those routse to an IQue, but it's still more convinient to research your future trip on the big screen and then just make few adjustments to my route on IQue.

The funny thing is that all documentation that came with IQue refer to a MapSource client and all the screenshoots are showing it, but it's not included on the DVD :)

You can transfer routes from MapSource to the Q in a round-about way. You will need to download the PDtoGPX (http://www.home.no/even-lund/index.html) app. to have this happen.

1. In MapSource, create Route using Waypoints.
2. Save as GPX file in Mapsource. (this saves waypoints along route)
3. Run PDtoGPX
4. Click on "Open route waypoints from GPX file" button (2nd last)
5. Click on "Save waypoints to Palm Desktop text file" button (last)
6. Close PDtoGPX
7. Start Palm Desktop and open the Address Book
8. Create or select a Category for the new waypoints (e.g. MapSource)
9. File, Import (comma separated txt) then select txt file.
10. Uncheck the Note checkbox, then click on OK (waypoints imported)
11. HotSync new waypoints to iQue.
12. Open final destination in iQue Address Book and choose Route To
13. Use Routes app. to add Vias "Add via from Find", choose Waypoints icon.
14. Tap first waypoint, then tap OK.
15. Repeat steps 14 and 15 until all waypoints on list.
16. Rearrange waypoint list if necessary.
17. Tap "Done". The new route will be plotted.
