Does anyone know if the Garmin pre-programed City Navigator SD Card for UK, Ireland (v8.02) will work with the ique 3600. I am going to the UK for 3 weeks and would really rather not spend $300 for the full version of City Navigator Europe, but I would like to be able to use all of the nav features.

You can buy the whole of Europe on MetroGuide Europe v8 for £40 on eBay!
Several soccer fans from US have been asking the same questions and opted for the above method.
I similarly have just bought Metroguide North America v7 for my son who is about to visit LA and Chicago. We have installed it - with autorouting.

I was told by Garmin that the Metroguide would work with the ique 3600, but would not do autorouting, nor would it have the voice feature. While I do not really care about the voice directions, autorouting is a must. Was Garmin incorrect or am I missing something here?

aj-vi,
Metroguide will only show you the map and your location. No driving guidance is supported by Metroguide.

Will a Garmin pre-programed SD card w/city nav for UK work with the ique 3600?
According to the Garmin web site, the iQue 3600 is NOT listed as compatable. They do list the M3 and M4 as compatable. You can try calling Garmin to double check, as I know some of the other map products don't list the iQue as compatable, but work. The maps they sell on the SD cards are the Navigator NT, which they say are "compressed differently".
If you want to go the MetroGuide route, you can check out this link (http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=220646) for instructions on how to make the maps routeable, and indexed.
