Hello,

I just bought the Magellan GPS companion for the m500's. I'm having a hard time figuring out a good way to get maps onto my palm. ie, what zoom level should I use, any options that i should turn on/off. I've tried zoom levels 7-10 and they seem to create very large size maps. The palm takes a very long time to redraw these maps. Thank you.

To give you an exact answer, it is necessary to know, which software, You use.
In general, I try to use a zoomlevel, which wil give me enough room around the GPS-point to make the map recognizable. That means, if you are in a town, a fairly high zoom-level is best because in there detail in important, whereas in the countryside a larger piece of land on the screen may be more informative.
If You are european, take a look at the maps from
www.swi-info.com
which are far superior to the ones provided with the unit (but alas also more expensive). If Your maps are from USA, I have no experience with them.
I wish You a lot of fun with Your Magellan - it is a great piece of hardware and very useful too.
