We ordered 2 Axims and the finally got here yesterday. We went to the website and downloaded the rebate forms.

But, the forms indicate that the packing slip must annotate that a rebate is due. Ours doesn't and the rebate customer service said they wouldn't issue a rebate without it. We have now called the Dell customer service for help.

Also, maybe I'm just paranoid, but the rebate form also says that only one rebate per order. What if we ordered two? I sure hope they don't mean they'll only give us a single $50 rebate for the two AXIMs.

Does your packing slip have a line about the rebate? ARggghhh.

Customer service got back to me...."that's outrageous". Its nice that they seem to be on my side (go figure). I'm waiting to see if we should just send the rebates in as is. I'll keep you posted.

I hope I am not in for the same trouble. I just pulled out my son's Axim that is in hiding for Christmas. I pulled the packing slip out and there is nothing mentioned about a rebate being due. They offered the rebate if the Axim was purchased between certain dates I believe. I have to believe that this is an error on the rebate form. I will call my sales person and if he cannot give me a straight answer I will get his manager to deal with it.

I have heard of several buggs in Dell's ordering, shipping, billing process on the Axim handhelds. I am hoping this is just one more bug and that in the end they will correct this. Can you only imagine the class action suit?

Keep us updated on what you find out.

I will post anything I find out that is new.

Ok. Called Dell this morning at their customer care center 1-877-776-6910.

I talked with a very nice lady and she said that the initial rebate form that was on the web site on November 18th that had a mailing address to Department 033662 was incorrect and if you mail your packing slip with that form you will recieve a post card denying the rebate. You then have to challenge the denial and in the end it will work out.

The best solution is to go to the web site and download the new rebate redemption form. It is maild to Department 36388 which is the rebate number for the Axim handheld. She said that even though the rebate is not listed on the packing slip this is a generic form and that since the invoice is dated between the allowed dates for the rebate it would be honored.

This hopefully is a mistake on their part. An Axim specific form would have solved a lot of issues.

I am going to follow up with my salesperson before I mail the new redemption form just to have all of this documented in my file with dell.

The salesperson sent my complaint/problem to his manager who said to proceed and if there were any problems, let him know. I'll look into the new department number...sounds promising.

I have the same problem with the rebates. I was told that each box shipped would have its own packing slip and that you need 1 for each rebate. trying to get an answer is hard though. Dell's automaated support sucks......I keep getting transfered to 5 different peole or more.
