Hi ya'll I am a college student looking into purchasing a new PDA. I love the IPAQ 3900 series compared to my #2 choice the toshiba e740 but it does not offer WI-FI without an expensive card and expansion pack. If they are going to upgrade I figure they will add Wi-Fi, and built in CF-card slots like the toshiba. So I was wondering if anybody had the inside scoop on the x-mas holiday releases. Also all these new PDA/phones are being offered does anybody know what HP/Compaqs plans are in this arena.

The 3970 has built in bluetooth which may work for you. Both versions of the 3900 series offer a built in SD slot. I imagine in the future they might offer a 802.11 card that will fit in the SD slot. Not sure if that helps...

Hi, just as a note. The 3900 series is the fourth revision of the Ipaq line so I doubt a CF slot is in the works as the expansion sleeve is one of the Ipaq major Pluses over the other PDAs. As far the the expensive sleeve and WiFi card goes you can pick up a CF sleeve and a Wifi card for right around $190 CDN....so like $100 or so US. If you are looking at an Ipaq 3900 series an extra 100 bones won't make much of a difference. I love my 3635 and plan on dropping in a Wifi card in the near future (thats why I have the prices of the top of my head)
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
