I just bought a Ipaq 2245 to replace an older Ipaq that had died. It came with ActiveSync 4.1 and Windows 5.0.

I use ACT for contact management and upgraded to ACT2006. Using the "ACTLink for Pocket PC" Now I cannot get it to sync at all with ACT. Get a really weird error message

" System.MissingFieldException: Field not found:Act.Devices.Conduit.Config.FieldDef.DevIndex .at GetMapping(CStringT<char,StrTraitMFC<char,ALT::ChtraitsCRT<char>>>*, ActConfigpCFg,Int32i at LoadActConfigFile(CStringT<char,StrTraitMFC<char,ALT::ChtraitsCRT<char>>>* csActConfigFile)",

then it will ask for Abort, Retry, Ignore .

If I try any of this option this error keeps popping up.

I am using Zonealarm but I can get it to sync with Outlook with no problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can try the latest activesync 4.2 from MS but i don't think that can help. It is possible that ACTLink for Pocket PC is not compatible with activesync 4.x, you may have to contact them to confirm. But there is also other 3rd party product such as CompanionLink that may work with activesync 4.x.
