Fellow Forum Members,
I currently don't own a PDA, but I'm thinking of getting one to remind me of 10 to 20 EBAY auctions I participate in every month. But before I buy a PDA, I will like to confirm the following.

In order for a PDA to work as a great reminder device, I think it needs to be able to power up automically anytime an Outlook appointment becomes due. Is there a PDA being sold in the market that will automatically power up anytime Outlook has an appointment reminder to run? Evenmore, does PDA software exist that will power up my PDA automatically, and execute an AUDIO alarm reminder instead? I think it would be cool if I could select the kind of Audio alarm I want to run for each reminder and then have the following reminders run as follows:

Monday July 9th - 4:50 P.M. PDA powers up and then runs an audio file I prerecorded that says, "You have an Ebay auction at 5:00 P.M."

Is what I have describe just wishful thinking, or is it actually technologically feasible for a PDA to perform this task? Any feedback will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Any Pocketpc or Windows Mobile devices should be able to do it. You may need addtional 3rd party softwares to make certain functions easier to do, for example you may want to look at myAuctions;

Thanks for your reply. This software seems to be exactly what I need. Do you think it has the ability to power up my PDA even if it's switched off? There is no mention of this capability. Once again, thanks for the info.

Yes, it can. Windows Mobile device does not really get shut off completly anyway but put into a stand by mode.

Hello friends, Kindly advice, I had been using Palm Vx for last 4 years & now to replace the battery it costs me $110 in India which is too expensive. Kindly advice me as as to which device I should settle for.

Currently, there are number of Smartphones form Sony Ericsson eg. P990, P910 and Nokia E61 and 6233, I presume it performs the same functions as Palm. As a LOYAL USER of Palm for years, should I continue with Palm TX or Lifedrive.

Kindly advice.
