Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I've searched with no luck...

If I write an email on my PPC, hit the send button and then sync with Outlook using Activesync then I find that the email that ends up in Outlook's Outbox (and then in Sent Items once it has been sent) has a bad "From" (correction: "To") field in that the email address has been lost, being replaced by a single-quoted string that just contains the contact's name or email address

For example, if I write an email on my PPC and select the person "Fred Bloggs" from my contact list (who has an email address fred@somewhere.com) and then hit the send button then I can see the email OK in my PPC's Outbox. However, once I've sync'd then the email in the Outlook Outbox contains the From (correction: To) field string 'Fred Blogs' or 'fred@somewhere.com' (including the single quotes) with no actual email address. Obviously the email fails to get delivered by Outlook. How can I stop this from happening?

I'm using an HP4150, Windows Mobile 2003, Outlook 2003 with Microsoft Exchange and Activesync 3.8.

Do you have this same contact item in desktop's Outlook? Perhaps try syncing the ppc's contact to desktop's Outlook as well.

Yes, I do have the same contact item in both the PPC and the desktop Outlook.

I've just realised that my original posting isn't quite right :o - whatever I seem to do, the email that ends up in the desktop Outlook's Outbox contains a To address that has the form 'xxxxxx' where xxxxx is either the contact's name or email address, including the single quotes. So, Outlook obviously thinks that the To address is the person's name rather than a real email address and hence the email doesn't get delivered.
