Yes. There are a couple of options you can use. First(and the one I use), you can download a plugin for your "prefs" panel called, "Screen Prefs" by Mike McCollister. It installs itself into the preferences panel of your handheld. You can switch from black/white to 65,000 colors and everything in between. Your second option is something called "Screen Depth" It plugs into either MagicText or LaunchEm. It allows you to switch the color modes as well. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Just so I'm clear, when it's shifted to black and white mode, is the screen identical to what the m500 would have, or is it literally a black and white interface? The reason I ask is that the color screens wash out in the sunlight where I do a lot of my work. Because of this, I need to have the black (shades of grey) screens for a majority of my work. I've read that the m500 is being discontinued (already unavailable here in the Netherlands), so I'm looking at other options.

16 greys is the color setting of t he m500.
