I a having a problem loading either a standard basemap to an SD card or a Lite basemap to the Garmin IQUE 3600 itself. I even tried a hard reset and a clean formatted card. Then after a hotsync and loading detailed maps onto the SD card, all I see on the display is close in detail. But, zooming out, there is no background, no basemap, and lower right corner says "no map". Doing a check of the internal memory content, GMAPBMAP 1K is installed, and GMAPPSUPP 1185K is also installed. When I try to add a basemap, I get an error and told to do a hotsync first. I've done a hotsync but same error occurs. What am I doing wrong? I have tried everything I could think of and spent hours yesterday. Need help here.
thanks.

Hi LI_Chip
On your SD card inside a folder named Garmin you should have 2 files. One named "GMAPSUPP.IMG" this is your main map tile set, and a second file named "GMAPBMAP.IMG" this being your basemap.
From what I remember the GMAPBMAP (1Kb) file which you mention as being installed on your internal memory is correct and required to point you iQue to look at the SD card for the full basemap. I am not sure if your aware, but there is a updated version of basemaps to those that were supplied on the iQues installation disc, and they can be downloaded from Here (http://www.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00264-00)
These are full installation packs and should install what you require easily if you use your Palm desktop

Thanks for your help, and you are quite right about those files. Problem was that my attempts to place those files on the SD card were repeatedly in vain. I ultimately called Garmin tech support, and we patiently tried every way to Sunday to get those files placed on the card. Finally we ended up forming a new user profile, and they easlily loaded to the "new user". I know that's a workaround answer and doesn't really find the cause, but it is now behaving properly.
Thanks again for your help.
