NR-70v dead- HELP!

My NR70v's power button always stays lit and the screen is black. When I briefly close the cover and open it, the screen briefly lights up with the regular screen and a "hold" button superimposed. The image then returns to black. I tried to reset it by depressing the reset button and the power button. A brief image came up whether to delete data. My data is backed up so I did but that did no good. It still has a black screen except when I open and close the lid when the screen brielfy lights up with the same "hold" button. It's been in the cradle so it's not for lack of charging. Any thoughts?

It sounds like your hold switch, on the bottom left side of the unit is pushed up. Mine does exactly the same thing. It is used to turn the display off when listening to music. Hope that is all it is.

Yeah make sure your hold button is off. If hold is on you'll see yellow through the little hole. Thought mine had died too a couple weeks after I got it. Turned out I had the "hold" button on. ;)

What a relief. It was the hold button. I feel pretty lame, but better than a dead clie.
