I currently have a Visor Prism (Axim 300 estimated shipping on 12/24) and I use Mapopolis on a daily basis at work. Couple of questions:

1) Has anyone used Mapopolis on their Axim or any other Pocket PC?

2) Has anyone used any other map program on a Pocket PC and what do you like about it?

3) I understand that a pocket version of Streets and Trips ships with the Axim. Has anyone used it yet and how detailed is it? (I have the regular version on my PC and like it a lot. If it works well I won't bother getting the Mapopolis or any other program.)

p.s. GPS capability isn't a necessity but if it is cheap enough, I might try it.

Any info would help! Thanks!

I too, am purchasing a Dell Axim X5 (400mhz) and will be leaving my Prism behind, along with my Magellan GPS Springboard. Mapopolis has maps for PocketPC (as you already know), but you have to purchase a subscription again, but they will give you a partial rebate on a current subscription. They now have the talking direction maps for PocketPC that work with different GPS units (they haven't test any specific GPS unit yet, but they plan to). There are other maps for the PocketPC:

Enjoy your new toy - can't wait for mine!

I'm using pocketstreets (came with m.s. streets and trips 2003). It does the job for me (I dont have GPS on my ipaq, and am ordering an axim but not any plans for gps as of yet).. the only gripe I have with pocket streets is that you can't give it a start and end point and have it map a route out for you. that would be sweet.
