Has anyone found a way to remove the One-Ed branding from the NetBooks sold on EBay?

The One-Ed wallpaper (replacing the standard EPOC one) is not a real problem - but the startup screen has a "My School Book. My Way to Knowledge" One-Ed banner that I am finding increasingly cheesy. This banner also appears in the "About Netbook" screen. Any info on changing/removing this would be appreciated!

The bootup screen shown when loading the OS from CF is also One-Ed branded but since this occurs so rarely, I am less bothered with it.

This is coming from someone who dumped Windows ME for 98, because ME kept recreating the "My Pictures" directory. All the other "My ..." directories could be renamed or exterminated but, obviously, Microsoft knows best about where we should keep our pictures!

I'm afraid you will have no luck with changing any of this branding - all of it is stored in the OS. :(

Well, this flash screen image has been burned in the Boot Dimm Rom which is different from the normal Psion netBook. You can check the part number of your Boot Dimm with those having the normal Psion netBook Boot Dimm and they are different. Other than that paying at auction price which is so much lower than the official netBook price, the Malaysian netBook user should enjoy using this machine to the fullness of what Epoc O/S has been able to offer.

Bought one, but hasn't shipped yet. Am trying to get a refund from BestDealBiz. On the chance I have to accept delivery -where or how can I have the personality chip changed and how much would it cost.

thanks all.

Mike
