Hello!

I have been a huge psionfan for many years, I started with a psion 3a, then a 5, then a revo, and finally a 5MX. After that I got tired of psiwins problems with w2k and bought a visor instread.

Now, my visor's getting old (I bought a used visor) - it has started to reset itself spontaniously and so on and I'm terrified that it will die one of these days - because without my PDA I'm totally lost...

Anyways - my question is - how does psiwin work in XP, and are there any third-hand alternatives? What I'm looking for is sync with outlook (e-mail/contacts/datebook). As I recall I had lots of problems with psiwin and often ended up with multiple copies of addresses and so on... Also - very imporant, e-mail-sync - I can't remember how it worked on psion, what I want is to see my inbox from outlook on my pda and be able to reply, and the next time I sync send the reply through outlook...

Thank you very much for helping me!

Psion as a PDA has always been my favorite machine, and if someone can help me with these questions I'm definatly going for a 5MX (or possibly a revo+) again...

Sorry for my bad english, it's very (well..) early here in Sweden right now...
/David

Well I haven't tried it myself, but take a look at Intellisync from Pumatech - it does everything you're asking for, but does not rely on Psiwin at all. It is not free however..

Hope this is enough to welcome you back into the fold of real portable computing device owners ;)

I've heard good things about Intellisync too - in fact I was just in the process of investigating it:

As Yan says, it's not free, but there is a trial version available for download.

Not to belabor what I've already written, but XP does an outstanding job with PsiWin. David, PsiWin will do everything you need so try it out before you spend money on anything else. I've written of my experiences in other threads with Intellisync and it is not the holy grail that replaces PsiWin. Just make sure you have PsiWin 2.3.3 when using Win XP.

Thanks Jim - I've read your impressions of Intellisync elsewhere and decided to save myself some time (and money!) and give it a miss.

It would have to offer some subtstantial benefits to me over PsiWin to justify its price, and I truly don't have any major problems with PsiWin, so I'll leave well alone.

Thanks again for the input.
