Getting a beam from Laptop (Dell Inspition 5150) to Axim X3

How do i beam files from my dell laptop to my dell pda?? Can someone please tell me thanks!!!!!

I have already downloaded the peacemaker pro software but that is not working.

Go to Start-Settings-Connections-Beam, make sure "Recieve all incoming beams" is checked. The file should show up on My Documents folder on the Axim.
Or you can activesync your Axim to the laptop via ir and click Explore on laptop activesync the you can copy and paste files to axim same as you do on the laptop.

Is there a step by step i can follow because my pda is saying that there are no other devices ...it cant seem to signal any devices and i have both my laptop and pda right in front of each other. Thanks!!

Is you laptop ir port activated?

I doubt it, not sure how to even activate it???

If the ir port on the laptop is not activated, the axim's ir will not be able to find the laptop. Consult your laptop's manual to find the exact instruction on how to activate it (i'm sure there is online version as well). Generally it's activated by entering system setup before Windows start up, perhaps by pressing one of the Function key, the on screen message will tell you when you restart the laptop.

I am looking at my laptop manual and the only ports I see are: Video, audio, USB (2), Ethernet LAN, S-video, IEE 1394 – it doesn’t say anything about a IR port???

Perhaps you don't have an IR port on your laptop, which means you cannot send or receive files from the axim, But without having access to your laptop i don't really know if you do or do not have ir port on your laptop.
