I have a problem connecting my Mio P550 to my PC.

I have window xp professional, activesync 4.2 installed.
I have checked the firewall definitions and they are ok (according to various articles I found over the net).

Can anyone help me?

Try temporary disable the firewall completely to see if that is the issue (be sure to restart the desktop and soft reset the pda before syncing. Also try another usb port on the desktop and use port on the computer itself and not one on usb hub.

I have tried that and it does not work.
I also emptied all the TEMP folders of windows (someone told me it would help).

Right now the only solution I see is to format and reinstall the OS.

Do you know about applications that might influence or block the ports?

I had skype installed. removed it but still no good.

You can also try reinstalling Activesync. Otherwise you will have to try hard-reset the pda, you do not need to reinstall the os on it, it will automatically revert back to original condition.

i tried all of these also and it didnt work.

by formatting and reinstallation I was reffering to the windows xp on my pc
