I was googling and came across the ABC Amber Psion Converter (http://www.processtext.com/abcpsion.html)

"ABC Amber Psion Converter is an advanced utility which converts your TCR (Psion) files to any format you wish (PDF, HTML, CHM, RTF, HLP, DOC, TXT, and more) easily and quickly.
The software supports a batch conversion, a run from command line, more than 50 languages. Batch conversion ability allows you to convert a unlimited number of TCR files at a time."

This is PC software, that much I worked out, but what sort of file is a TCR file?

Regards
Colin

TCR is a compressed text file format. It's especially useful with Psion Series 3 and Series 5 machines: there are text viewers for both which can display TCR-compressed files directly (VReader5 and EBook for the 5, Reader for the 3). (There's nothing to stop you using it elsewhere, too, of course.) It's rather like Palm DOC format, except with better compression.

See http://www.cix.co.uk/~gidds/Software/TCR.html

Hi Giuseppe,

Thanks for the useful link; now I understand. I hadn't come across any TRC format files in my Psion experience: revo in 1999 and netBook in 2003. I guess that the format is redundant now, certainly I don't find space an issue on a netBook.

I personally don't like ABC programs. They spam a lot for them and they even make the smallest programs to shareware. I don't even think that this Converter is really useful...

I agree that I won't be using the converter, it was only a random google that turned up the link. I blame google alerts, it turns up the weirdest links.
