Hey,

I'm new to the world of PDAs. I need one for everyday planning, school and so on. I do not intend to watch movies on it. Perhaps listen to music. Anyway, so far I've chosen three candidates:

HP iPaq rx3715
HP iPaq hx2495
HP iPaq 4150

But because I'm a novice it's hard to pick out just one. The things that are most important to me are:

-battery
-performance
-stability
-wireless connectability
-compliance with new standards

I know the last one is hard for older models, but with it I mean that those older models have the ability to have their software updated.

Anyway, as I said, I'm new. Havent had any experience with PDAs beore so don't really know what to look for.

Hope you can help. Oh, and I'm open to suggestions on other PDAs aswell. Aslong as they run Pocket PC.
I've looked at Dell Axim x51v. It's only about 50$ more expensive than the 2495 on eBay.
The only thing that bothers me is the design. I don't like the way it looks.

Is it worth it? And it really has to be a lot better than 2495, to justify its apperance.

Thanks.

All three are excellent models for your needs. Don't know about dell. You will want some good software apps to expand the useage of pda and you can find some excellent ones here on this site. Happy Ebaying and welcome to the ipaq family.

For a novice user, newer models may be more suitable. Older used ebay units may have hidden problems that may be more difficult for newer users to fix. 2495 is newer and designed more towards business uses. The 3715 has builtin camera and that may or may not be issue. You may also want to take a look at new Axim x51 (the mid model), it's currently $300 in the US. Dell often has discount deal on Axim, you just have to wait for it.
