Device not Recognized

Hi..

I am trying to connect my desktop to a PDA using ActiveSync 3.5
but it keep getting this error " Device not Recognized".

can anybody help me with this ..

Try removing the iPAQ from the cradle and performing a soft reset. Then before attempting another sync, reboot your host PC and wait until all system initialization has completed. The iPAQ will not be recognized until ActiveSync has initialized and is running.

Sorry to hear that someone else is having this problem. I wanted to share some information on what I am seeing as well. Hopefully someone will have some insight into a resolution. I have 2 3635's, both of the home pc's are running Windows XP Professional Active Synch 3.6 (currently). My IPAQ has worked flawlessly since both were purchased. My wifes, has had intermittent problems with exactly what you are referring to, until 3 months ago at which time the unit ceased to communicate with any pc we own regardless of the configuration (as tested). I have tried hard/soft resets on the device. I have tried connecting to her HP desktop. my Toshiba Laptop. I have purchased a new usb 2.0 compatible controller and installed it in her pc, I have downloaded the new 3.6 version of active synch and nothing seems to work. I have called COMPAQ/hp :) but they hung up on me (great phone system, I assume) after 50 mins of combined hold and conversation. So, while I await a response from their staff via email. I would welcom any information as well and would be happy to test in conjuction with this forum member any suggestions that may find a resolution.
