I have a MDA..... I have no trouble using active sync on my desktop or laptop.....at least until now...
I usually connect to my desktop using one of the 2 front USB ports.....Now it won't connect..It'll charge the battery...but it won't connect with activesync.
I have tried using a different cable..as well as the USB ports on the back of the desktop.....
My MDA works perfect with the laptop....
On the desktop...these USB ports will 'read' my thumb drives and my SD card reader....
One other thing.... normally when I would 'sync' the MDA and the desktop....I would get a strong, distinct..ping .... Now I only get 2 'weak' pings.
Any ideas?

You probably already did this, but disconnect the mda, restart it and restart the desktop and try syncing again.

And a few more ideas;

Are you using the same version of activesync on both laptop and desktop?

Did you recently install or change any firewall or security settings on the desktop?

Try looking in the Device Manager on the desktop for an unknown device. If there is one when the mda is plugged in, then delete the device. Then reboot and try to connect again.
