I have a new laptop (a Dell D610) with windows xp and want to hot sync my tungsten e to both microsoft outlook and palm desktop. (I could do this on my old laptop, but my company no longer offers tech support for pdas). I have tried both the most recent palm software and the software from the cd that came with the tungsten e. Nothing works. I get a generic message that doesn't tell me what's wrong, merely that the pda and desktop aren't connecting. I've switched the speed to 9600, I've followed the troubleshooting procedures. Nothing works. Occasionally, a message saying the COM1 port is unavailable pops up, but when I check the port, the computer says it's working fine. Is there something I can do to make the hot sync function work? Or am I going to forever be inputting contact information in two places: the laptop and pda?

Got a Dell laptop. Have a Tungsten E2. Kept getting the message, mentioned about, about the conduits. So, thinking the problem was Intellisync, I deleted it. Initially, it synced just fine. I use ePocrates every day, numerous times a day. I clicked on it, and got the fatal alert message: DataMgr.c, Line:11444, Index out of range. I began researching a bit more, so, deleted Docs to Go. Synced again, and went back to the conduit message.

Totally frustrated.........
