PDA's/Smartphones - What's the dif?

I’m interested in purchasing a mobile link that has my address book, schedule, clock etc. I want something simple. In all the web pages I’ve visited websites where PDAs and smart phones are used interchangeably. Pardon my ignorance, but are they the same thing or completely different.

The difference is very simple, actually. A smartphone is basically a PDA merged with a cell phone. Look on palmblvd.com for the Smartphones category if you're interested in this. Piece of advice - don't post in the misc. PDA section, not many people look here.
