The Psion draws its power from the main batteries, right? Without the main batteries then it will take its power from the backup battery. So if my main batteries are good the Psion shouldn't take any power from the backup battery at all? I've noticed that my Psion seems to be taking a good deal of power from the backup battery and I find myself changing my backup battery far more frequently than my main batteries. I've searched this forum and found other people had similar problems.
I checked the voltage of my backup battery last night and it was 3.27V. Then I took it off of mains for the night and this morning re-checked it. The backup battery is now at 3.23V.
So, then I definitely have some kind of power problem? Will I have to open her up and check the wires and connections or something? Any comments?

I did a soft reset (2x) and have been checking the backup battery every now and then. The backup battery isn't being drained anymore. I wonder what caused it in the first place?
Having searched around I've noticed that this is a problem for the Series 3 and Series 3a, but not the 3c, which is what I'm using. I've also noticed, rare as it was, that some people have complained about this with a 5mx. Anyway, really is good for me because how can you trust a device if it's power can fail?
I'm no adapter expert, but I was using a British Psion adapter model fitted with a socket converter for European plugs. Maybe something to do with this? I was also using the S3a Pelican Battery Checker. Perhaps it is just for a 3a? Since doing a soft reset I've used neither the adapter or the battery program. Maybe I'll give it a shot and try to narrow down the exact problem, but this is a problem in the past and a challenge for another day. Cheers. :)
