Hi all
Would appreciate any help with this, I'm a bit of a novice so not sure if there's something obvious I'm missing here.....

I ordered a SDIO Wireless LAN card for my iPAQ - hx2190 - which arrived today. I must admit initally I thought it would be a plug-and-play type thing, but it obviously wasn't as it wouldn't work....

Anyway, I've installed it, all the messages say it says it's fine, and my Belkin wireless network showed up on my iPAQ screen together with a little signal at the top.

But it's just not working. The iPAQ keeps freezing. I've taken the battery out etc and retried - after a couple of goes I got to the normal home screen, tried to launch the internet, and got a message saying it couldn't connect.
So I tried to go into settings, somehow ended up on the 'bluetooth' page - and there it's stuck. Can't turn it on or off, can't get out of the page, taking the wireless card out doesn't make a difference.

Just wondered if there's a knack with this sort of thing or if there's anything on the connection settings I should be doing - assuming I can get it going again, I think I will probably have to remove the battery once more. I ordered the card cos I want to use my iPAQ on wireless networks wherever I am and I thought it would be quite easy.... but clearly not. Or not for me!!

Any help and advice very much appreciated. Thank you.
Bex

Just to update in case any kind person is reading this -
I've got my iPAQ working but just can't connect to the wireless network/internet etc.
Every time I try, I get a message saying 'Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings' - but I don't know what's wrong with the settings or what I should be inputting.

I've also just noticed that the little icon at the top of the screen has disappeared and it doesn't now seem to be detecting any wireless links, even just to say they're unavailable (which it did before). If I tap on the iPAQ Wireless icon in Settings, it just goes to the Bluetooth details.

Aaarghh! I wish I was better at this!

Typically in Networks you have to choose "My Work Network" along with "This network connects to the Internet". And select "Work" for Network Card.
And make sure to set wireless router/access point to 802.11b only or mixed mode.

Thanks for that. I can't see anything about a work network, though I am probably looking in the wrong place.
Could you possibly explain how I set the wireless router/access point?
Thank you!

Here's detailed wifi guide
http://wifi.aximsite.com/wifi_net.html
And you have to consult your wifi router manual to see how to change its settings. The steps can be different between makes and models, usually you open web browser on the desktop that is connected to the same network and put in the IP address of the router to get in to router setup.
