Hi guys... hopefully someone can help. I am trying to sort out my hubby's ipaq as it doesnt recognise any sd card. ( i have a 47XX series with no problems, which confirms the card is ok) i have tried soft resets formatting the card reboots and now at a loss as to how it will recognise the sd card . Can anyone please give me some advise. Many thanks in anticipation.

Perhaps you already tried this but have you tried soft reset the iPAQ while the card is in the slot?

yes answerdude have tried that. Am thinking only the hard reset is the answer but a bit wary over this as not too confortable if i have to reinstall software,( ok with desktop but ipaq whole new ball game for me!)

You can either sync your data with desktop Outlook or create a backup first before hard reset. You can restore from backup or create new partnership and sync the data back from Outlook and reinstall all applications from Activesync add/remove programs in 1 steps. Try the sd card before restore from backup or reinstall applications to check if it's not the problem of software conflict.

thanks for your help on that. Have done the hard reset and still it doesn't recognise the card. I'd appreciate any other suggestions.

This is not an answer to your question - sorry, it's just to let you know that you are not alone, and I have been trying to work this one out for ages.
I have a 2210, it can read a 512mb Sandisk sd card, a 1gb Integral sd card and a 2gb easy drive sd card, but it WILL NOT read a 1gb Sandisk sd card or a 2gb Integral sd card? - Go figure!
I have tried soft and hard resets, formatting in the PPC and on the desk top pc, but nothing - The only way around the problem was to swap the offending cards with a very understanding friend!
Let me know if you find tha answer

This is not an answer either, but you can use it as a work around!
I also have a set of SD 2G cards that don't work in my HP2795, although they work in my HP945 Camera. I like to keep some pic's on my Ipaq but can't load from these cards. I also have another set of 2G cards that work in the Ipaq and not in my camera. So I transfer the pic's I want to carry with me to my PC and then to the cards that I use in the Ipaq. I don't know why they work this way but, rather than fight it, I guess you have to put up with it! By the way all 4 cards work in the pc.
Hope this helps, if not good luck

Again - This is only what I have done - don't try this unless you are very clever, lucky, or like me had nothing to loose:
