I am using a Palm Tungsten E (with Backup Buddy) and a Windows XP Professional computer. Recently I have had problems hot syncing my Palm (OS 5.2.1) to my Palm Desktop (v. 4.1.4). The first time I hot sync, I get an error message "Out of memory. Please free some memory." Then I get another error message, "Runtime error hotsync.exe." I then have to do a soft reset of my Palm. If I try to hotsync again, it will usually work fine on the second or third try. I have exited the programs in my Windows systray and tried to hot sync but had the same results as just mentioned. I do not have any other problems on my computer with programs not running because of memory problems, even with memory intensive programs like photo editors.
What could be causing this problem and how do I correct it?
Thanks.
Richard

I don't have xp so this is just a guess- have you browsed the updates for the tungsten e desktop software on palmone? They may have an update that will fix problems. It sounds like a conduit mismatch with xp. Then again maybe you've got the latest software and that isn't it.
All the best (I've found that older palms such as m130 will synch with palm e desktop software if it is the old version for the e if you update it though the conduits change. This is a common problem in upgrades)

Hi Richard,
Here is the link to the Palm Desktop 4.1.4E update:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/windesk414e.html
If this doesn't fix your issue, you might try the Tungsten E hotsync troubleshooting page. Go to palm.com, then "support" then type in "hotsync troubleshooting" or solution "2630."
