Does anybody know of a program which I can design a grocery list on my desktop, and then export the list to my Clie?

The simplest way I can think of is to use the To-do application. You could either create a single item called "Groceries" and put all your items in the note section. Or if you want something with a checklist capability, you could create a new category called "Groceries" and put each item as a separate To-do item under category Groceries. That way, you can display only the Groceries category in your To-do list and check off items as you buy them.

There are a few handheld grocery list programs out there, but nun that I know of that also sync with the desktop. All just handheld applications only

SplashShopper is a great program for this and it has it's own desktop component:

He, he, you made me laugh, James...because, of course you're right. I made my first list, and walked through Costco with it, and had to keep putting it into my pocket because I didn't want to leave it in the basket in case someone else decided they needed a Clie. But, I did get some interesting looks from other people who were wandering aimlessly. All in all, its another fun tool for my Clie toy!

Why worry about what the uninformed masses think. Hopefully, you are not at WalMart cruisin for a mate.

I like to spend the bare minimum of time in WalMart and grocery stores and Splashshopper allows me to do that.

Making a Grocery List on my to-do option was my very first option I used on my Clie after I unwrapped it Christmas morning.

I'm going to download the shopper program mentioned above and give it a try as well.

I've also, (not sure if this is good), got my wife using the desktop software and making up "Honey-do Lists" for me. It pops up in my to-do list as (Around the House) and its my never ending list of things that need fixed, or errands to run or rooms to paint, pets to neuter, hee.

The bad thing is I can't say I didn't hear her.. the good thing is I get everything done (in time) and there's no miscommunication (or excuse for it). :)

My Clie is a God-send (I'm a list/organizational geek from way back, this is just the natural evolution of geek-ness).

So it's kind of a bitter sweet moment for you then :)

You just gotta love a wife that gets you a Clie for Christmas though!!! What a fantastic gift.

Welcome to the world of Clie!!

I use handyshopper. It's nice, organizes everything by catagories, isles, stores, etc. I can create a hardware list and general shopping list and grocery list, etc. Place quantities....It's pretty cool.

It's on palmgear.com, search for it. I'm happy.

Handy shopper also has a lot of data bases allready available. There is a yahoo club just for handy shopper.

I've read through these posts in regards to software you can purchase for specific functions. As in this thread it was for a Grocery list.

If anyone out here in the PalmOS world has HanDBase there are thousands of free 'applets' out available for free.

I've been a HanDBase User (www.ddhsoftware.com) for several years and HanDBase has released a 3.0 version of their database. You don't have to be a computer geek to use it or even create your own databases. The database comes with a Client for Windows or Mac when you can buy HanDBase for either a PalmOS or PocketPC Handheld Device.

The reason I mention this.... is because I have created (awhile ago) a Database for Groceries on HanDBase. It is Called 'My Grocery List". It has 1000 items already pre-loaded in it and grouped into categories. The Fields this database has in it are:
Buy Indicator
Item
Category
Store
Aisle
Special Note Field
Quantity
Cost Per Item
Calcuated Total (Cost Per Item * Quantity).

This database is FREE and available to anyone who has HanDBase 3.0. If you wanted to Try HanDBase... give it a whirl and go to http://www.ddhsoftware.com and download a free 30day trial of HanDBase and download some of the THOUSANDS of free databases which would suite your needs.

My favorite... is the Starbucks Coffee Database... where you can take 'orders' in the office for coffees and not forget who ordered what and get the drinks right the first time... lol

Anyway... I just thought I would share!

Another option I've used for quite sometime is ListMaker. You can download a free demo at the Synergy Solutions website (http://www.synsolutions.com).

I have been trying to update my fairly old registered apps from Synergy -- LIstmaker and Today.

I haven't been able to open website for synsolutions.com, nor answers by sending email to their Sales or Support.

Is there any news about Synergy Solutions??
