I just found a page on palmsource's website for Web Browser 2.0 and in it's FAQ I found the following question and answer:
What version of Palm OS does Web Browser 2.0 run on? Why doesn't Web Browser 2.0 work on Tungsten T?
A: Web Browser 2.0 requires Palm OS 5.1. Palm Tungsten T and Sony NX70V Clie come with Palm OS 5.0 installed. These devices both come standard with different browsers. Tungsten T is bundled with the Novarra Web Pro browser and NX70V comes with the Netfront Access browser.
Does any one know where to find the update for OS5.1? I've looked but could not find it.
Here is the Link to the webpage:

Basically they're saying you can't use it. I'm 95% sure 5.1 HAS NOT been released yet. With Os6 coming next year I wonder where they are going to fit it in.... If they do it should be in the next couple of months we'd hope....
I would also make the assumption that Realplayer (which was meant to come bundled with the T|T) will come with 5.1 so hopefully 5.1 will not be long.
this is pure speculation of course ;)

Something has actually been said about that. They said they WOULD be released at the same time because of couse the OS 5.1 has the sound fix....... But knowing Palm- they've already broken one big promise (they said real player would be out by the end of LAST YEAR {2002!}), whats to say they won't do again??

Apparently the new Garmin GPS PDA is Palm OS 5.1.something and has 32mb ram :-P
Check it out at Palm Infocenter (i dont have the URL at the moment since I was reading it offline, on my Tungsten :) )

I think now. I could be mistaken though.
I saw some nice colour pictures of it on the site :)
Apparently they've done away with the Graffiti area (I also heard that Graffiti 2 was going to be introduced in OS 5.1.x devices). So it's got a 320x480 resolution if I remember correctly.
Palmsource has licensed Jot as grafitti 2 I think, because of a lawsuit involving xerox.
more can again be read on palminfocenter

Just to set the record straight, the Garmin will not be released until second quarter of this year. I'm not too sure about the OS, but my understanding is that it will be 5.0.

It's actually 5.2 I think :-)
Palm OS 5.2 is still Palm OS "5".

Yep. Kinda like how OS X has it with their 10.2.214.32432523523.2353223.235 version numbers (that was a little wildly exaggerated, but you get the idea.. it's still OS X)

I actually saw the Garmin device last week at a PGA Golf Show in the StarCaddy (www.starcaddy.com) booth. It looked like it was running Palm OS 5.1.

I checked the version info from the main application screen while playing with it and it was reporting version 5.1.
