i just bought a wireless 802.11b SD card for my ipaq h3800. I saw that i can connect to the internet using dial up but I have roadrunner which is cable. Is there any way i can connect to the internet? I can't seem to find a way in the settings to not go through dial up.

If you use older version of Activesync, you can get internet passthrough when you sync through wifi. Or you can connect the iPAQ to your home wifi network.
There are more information here
http://wifi.aximsite.com/wifi_net.html
Many steps are the same for iPAQ and Axim.

i think it is becaue im using windows mobile 2002. I have the host11 and firmware for 2003 but i cant install it. When i try and put it into "remote usb update" mode it doesnt work. The screen just says serial and v0.48.
Why wont it go into that mode? I'm reptty sur ethat is my on ly problem because the drivers for my wireless card wont install on 2002. When i try and run host11 i get the error message "lost USB connection"

the 3800 does not support sd wifi card even after 2003 upgrade due to hardware limitation. The sd slot for this model only works with memory card. You'll need expansion sleeve and either pc or cf wifi card.

Perhaps what you have is not a legitimate upgrade installation file. The upgrade is not a free upgrade. HP was selling it a while back, you can still find it on ebay. It should come with detailed instruction.

i bought the one on ebay which many people said is legitimate.
It tells me to put it into remote usb mode by presssing button 2,4,reset,power. When i do that it goes into serial mode with v0.48 and it doesnt say remote usb update. is this a problem? I think im going to buy a new PDA anyways but it would be nice to get this one updated.

Also any suggestions for a good PDA that is similar to my ipaq 3800 but has built in wifi and possibly bluetooth? The dell axim looks good but it is quite expensive.

For new unit Axim is usually already cheaper than others in term of price and features. Dell occasionally has discount on them, currently in the US x51 is $299 and is fairly full featured. For older model perhaps iPAQ hx4700 is a good choice because of its large screen and vga resolution. You can see many reviews here;

I still am unable to get 2003 installed I dont know what is going on with it. So anymore help with that would be great. If need be i'll post some pics of w/e u want

I just bought a ipaq rx 3700 it is similar to the one i have now but has 2003 installed has wifi and bluetooth + a little more. So i think i'll be happy with it. I got it for $150 so its not a bad price. I was hoping to the x51 for about $175 but couldnt find it.
