Having recently being initiated into the world of mobile video and stills through my new Sony w300i cell phone, I now want to attempt to put a full length movie on it. However, in order to do this, I will need to buy a $50 external M2 card to put it on, not to mention the fact that I do not have super vision (or is it supervision, LOL!?) to view moving objects on such a tiny screen for so long. Anyway, I know that there are video playback programs out there that are compatible with our iQue 3600's Palm software, and I already have plenty of cheap 1 and 2G SD cards!! I also have a file viewer and the iQue 3600 screen size is adequate for that purpose so I guess viewing videos on it would not give me a headache!!

So, what video playback programs do you knowledgeable folks recommend? How much are they, and better yet are there any decent FREE ones??!! What type of codecs do they use, and what progs are you using to compress them? How do they look compressed? How is the sound (with headsets, of course)?

Any steering in the right direction would be most helpful, and as always I thank all of you in advance!!

I'm using The Core Pocket Media Player, known as TCPMP.
This is their website: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/ but it has been down for some time (months?) now.
I downloaded the prog from this backup place: http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/

This prog is open source and free; so far is the best one I found for the iQue. It reproduces mostly anything. The only thing I don't like is the fact that you cannot "minimize" it when listening to music.

I use TCPMP too.

It is now a commercial product (its out of beta test), and is call CorePlayer. You can download it here (http://coreplayer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=33&Itemid=29).

It supports 3GPP video files, which is the format many cell phone use. My cell phone uses a micro-SD card, and with its adapter, will fit the SD card slot on my iQue3600.

I've been using TCPMP as well for about two years now. I currently have ripped episodes of "Land of the Lost" on it. I think I used Handbrake on the Mac to rip the videos to a 320x240 MP4. I've ripped full-length movies as well. I just had to make sure I got the data rate low enough that TCPMP wouldn't choke on the file.

Peace!
